Son of a Morzine farmer and pit worker, Henri Tavernier has a tailor and opened his own shop in 1956. Very shortly after, he started selling sports outfits and ski renting aside his craftsmanship. Initially named “Henri TAILLEUR” the boutique became “HENRI SPORT”.
At the same time he joined the sport commercial pool called “Lahutte” and every local and tourists keep using this name “Lahutte” until today.
As the sport outlet became “Intersport” adding to the new “Quiksilver” boutique and the “La Dézalp” restaurant, the building has been renamed “Lahutte”, as everyone in the village refers to it.
This story traces back the 50’s until today, the evolution of winter sports and outdoors sports, the story of the village of Morzine and the creation of the ski resort Avoriaz where 2 shops « INTERSPORT Location RENT » have been opened by Henri Tavernier successors.
